A rare piece 19.38g Danish silver bracelet, marked 830S and signed for Christian Veilskov, Copenhagen. The construction and detail are exactly what you’d expect of his mid-20th-century work: a series of curved rectangular links with raised foliate scroll motifs, linked with hidden pins, and fitted with a well-engineered integrated clasp that closes flush and securely, and is entirely not visible when worn. (Such a simple closure too - makes me wonder why clasps are often so complicated, and when simple and invisible like this does the trick!?) Length is 7.5" (~ 19 cm). Veilskov was active in Copenhagen from the 1940s–70s, producing silver jewellery in the classic Danish modernist style, often with plant-inspired or abstract sculptural forms. The use of 830 silver reflects Scandinavian standards of the period, particularly in Denmark and Norway before the widespread adoption of sterling. Alongside the invisible clasp construction, this leads me to conclude the piece was made between 1950-1965. The bold scrollwork and clean geometry reflect the restrained decorative idiom that sat between functionalist design and organic revival trends of the time. Pieces of this weight and condition by Volskov are scarce and sought after by collectors of Danish silver. The bracelet bears a set of discreet hand-engraved initials on the reverse ("GJ" as pictured), a feature often found on older jewellery pieces. Inscriptions of this type typically do not affect value in one way or the other, although some collectors prize them as traces of personal history.#danishsilver#Veilskov#christianvolskov#830silver#scandinavianmodern#modernistjewellery#vintagesilver#danskdesign#midcenturyjewellery#foliatedesign#silverbracelet#danishmodernist#collectablesilver#scandinavianstyle#geometricjewellery
